A brief look at the human physiology

We all know that the human body consists of things such as tissues, organs, cells, skin and bones. The scientific name for the study of what the body is made of what is called anatomy.

The study of anatomy, however, is not and can not be as dynamic as the study of life science of how the human body actually works and how the body parts behave and interact with each other. This science is called human physiology.

The organization of the body

The body is organized on four different levels:

Chemical - in very small level and the base, the body is made of atoms and molecules

Cell to the next level, the atoms and molecules form cells. Cells are the basic structure of the level of the body. The body is made of various types of cells which include white and red blood cells, fat cells, muscle cells and nerve cells

Tissue - The body contains only four types of tissue: muscle, nerve, epithelial, and connective tissue. Fabric consists of groups of cells and the surrounding material to which both the assembly function to do a specific job.

A body-member consists of two or more tissue types. Bodies specific forms and perform different individual functions. The liver, for example, is a vital organ responsible for many things, including the detoxification of the body and produce biochemicals, called bile to help digestion. The liver is nervous, connective and muscle tissue.
The body systems

The body consists of ten different systems that work together to make the body function. These systems are: endocrine system, nervous system, circulatory system, gastrointestinal system, integumentary system, respiratory system, urinary system, reproductive system, musculoskeletal system, immune system.

How body systems work and interact with each other is called integration. Many systems, while they have their own specific function, work in parallel with other systems to ensure the body works as it should.

How body systems talk to each other is called communication. It is essential that all parts of the body know what is happening in other parts of the body so that optimal performance can be obtained.

When everything works well in the body and functions efficiently and normally it is said to be in a state of homeostasis. However, this balance is delicate and many things can go wrong with the body - whether for internal or external reasons. The body responds to try to correct the balance with its various systems, but it can not always achieve this. This is where modern medicine intervened to try to correct that the body itself can not.

The study of human physiology and anatomy has been around for over 2000 years. Research by pioneers such as Aristotle and Hippocrates was pretty basic, but began the study of science more complex life as we know it today. However, modern human physiology gives us knowledge to learn about how our bodies and help us all live longer and healthier....
